Is the Master Cleanse (lemonade,cayenne,maple syrup) an easy way to shed a few pounds fast?

I dont want to go on it for 12 days, because im already ';thin'; but i do want to just shrink my stomach!! would it work if i maintained it for 3 days??Is the Master Cleanse (lemonade,cayenne,maple syrup) an easy way to shed a few pounds fast?
My daughter did the cleanse and she lost a lot of weight in just 2 weeks, but you have to make sure you use the grade b syrup because of the minerals and vitamins in it.





Why would you want to shrink your stomach if your already thin? If you eat any food then it will just stretch right back out again.





Why dont you just eat more healthy foods that have fiber and protein and complex carbs so you dont feel hungry yet you get the nutrition that you need and the calories to support life and your body.Is the Master Cleanse (lemonade,cayenne,maple syrup) an easy way to shed a few pounds fast?
If you want to shrink your stomach, eat lots of fiber, drink lots of water, and try some Activia to help aid digestion in addition to your normal healthy diet. The ';unflat'; stomach is probably a result of bloating, water retention, and poor digestion. The fiber, water, and Activia will work FASTER than the ';Master Cleanse'; aka the ';Master Stupidest Idea I've Ever Heard.'; If you only drink that stupid liquid concoction for 3 days, you will actually become MORE bloated and have POORER digestion, making your problem worse! Yes, I meant a probiotic LIKE Activia. ';Probiotics'; are more common in Europe, in the states everyone knows Activia which is why I suggested it. Perhaps Stephanie could use a little Activia, bloating DOES tend to make you cranky and irritable....
There are no ';magic'; ingredients in the so called ';lemonade diet';. Infact its basically sugar (maple syrup) and water. Okay so cayenne pepper will hoist your metabolism a bit but this diet is probably the stupidest ever invented. So you're not going to dehydrate, but it'll give you a taste for sugar, so guess whats going to happen as soon as you quit the diet. Not to mention that while you're on it your going to be moody and on highs and lows all the time.

the master cleanse is a cleanse, and you will only lose weight that is unessesary. toxins are stored in fat cells, so if there are fat cells, it will shed them, if there isn't, it won't.however, it is not meant to do for 3 days, as it is NOT a diet, but a cleanse so needs to be at least 10 days to be affective, and should be done for the #1 reason of being healthier, and the weight loss is a ';by product';.





It is very important the you do it for at least 10 days!

Nooo, this Master Cleanse is not good! Eating nothing but lemonade, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup for 3 days is horrible. Sure you'll ';cleanse'; your body for a few days. But when you start eating again you'll gain the weight back and plus a few more pounds because you'll likely binge eat.

Both are very beneficial, I noticed results each time I have done them, but the third time I completed a cleanse I saw the best results.     Eat in your regular meal, foods which are rich in fiber and fruits dont eat yet any fatty or other foods other than fruits and vege whatever you want and plenty of water. Be sure that while doing this you must have a regular bowel movement to flush the toxins if not you must take laxative. Do this at least a week. You can feel the difference after that but if you feel you can still go on with this eating lifestyle then just go on. It will make you more healthier. Health is wealth. Good luck.

    well from what i heard the master cleanse is super bad and makes u really irratable..so u might want to think about that b4 u do it...
    Oh my I do this as a type of spring cleaning each year. It is great! The master cleanser is the one that I always do. It is hte maple syrup, lemon juice, and cayen pepper. It is like a tangy lemonade. It is so good. However, the first two days are rough. You will get a bad headache for sure. But stick with it it goes away and you will feel great come day ten. But....do not leave your house to early after drinking warm salt water. Trust me I had to throw away a pair of favorite jeands because I left to early and did not make it to a bathroom! So I would recommend doing this when you are not pressed for time, and you do not have to work hard. At the end of the week I did have allot of energy though!





    Try it out the health benefits are awesome!

    I will do tomorrow the Salt Water Flush. I know this flush everything, good and back bacteria. I've read on some places I will need some sort of probiotics back.





    I'm raw vegan 100%, so I won't eat any dairy product, nor any processed food. Only uncook.

    Try some Kombucha Tea. You can make your own but it takes like two weeks to brew and ferment and it's kind of a pain. You can buy it at Whole Foods Market. Make sure you get the raw kind that is unpasturized. It is sold in glass bottles. You may also be able to buy it at wild oats market or other organic type markets. It is an excellent probiotic and keeps with your raw food diet.

    If you eat well and stay away from processed foods your body will never need to be assaulted that way. Human dietary needs are the product of evolution and getting back to basics and nature, eating the right foods the right way will keep your insides well tuned without the need for anything ';out of the ordinary';. To make the leap from a poor diet to the right one, armed with knowlege, you could gain some benefit from a fast and some fresh water, then get into a proper diet gradually to minimize stress on your ';temple';.
    I'm not sure why a raw vegan needs to undergo a cleansing, but a great and easy way to get bacteria back into your system is to take some acidophilus.     Day 2 I fcked up and binged but I took care of that so I wont let this 1 binge episode stop me from continuing the cleanse.

    The master cleanse doesn't work. I couldn't make it past the first day. I had to purchase a cleanse from www.thedetoxlife.com and that one was for 9 days and much better and I receive better results.

The fact is, losing weight takes time and effort. 2 simple things you can do to lose about 10 pound in 3 to 4 weeks.. depending on your weight is to lessen your calories 100 to 500 a day, again depending on your weight.     I'm not a fan of fasting at all, as I know what it can do to your metabolism (make it screech to a halt).





    However, exercise does burn calories even when fasting...what you will notice though is that you have little energy to exercise as your body has no fuel to burn so you won't get the workout benefit you would, if you were eating properly.

The reason that it passes right through you, without you digesting it, is because it is toxic for you to digest it. This is why many complain that it tastes terrible and makes them feel sick and want to vomit
    Why would you want to deny your body of all the nutrients it needs to survive everyday? Typically when clients of mine ask about detox diets or cleansing rituals I typically will ask them why and what they hope to achieve from it, then give them the facts regarding them, and let them make an informed choice about whether they want to do it. If they are really bent on doing it i will typically only recommend 1-3 days at the most. The only weight you are losing is muscle and water, and when you begin to eat again you will only plump up your fat cells because you have starved your body and it wants to survive.


    Good luck, but I think you will waste time, energy and money.

    Absolutely not. This is a vital part of the program because it will basically be your only source of nutrients, calories, and energy while on the fast. It doesn't taste bad, use real maple syrup. If for some reason you are absolutely set against maple syrup, the booklet (which is available for free online) calls for Molasses as a substitute. I think there are other considerations when using Molasses, so look up the booklet if this is your path.





    Laxative vs. Salt Flush:





    The salt flush is just about necessary at least every other day. The laxative probably will not be enough to rid your body of the toxins that will be building up. Try the salt water flush every other day instead of every day. Not using this tool will make detox go much slower and it will be more symptomatic (i.e. you will get headaches and fatigued more).Variation of the Master Cleanse Fast?

    Fasts are generally a bad idea. Your body needs a certain amount of nutrient just to function - denying your body ANY nutrients will send it into starvation mode.





    Talk with your doctor about it first. S/he can recommend what foods would be okay to consume - to give you nutrients but still let you cleanse.





    Consider an Isagenix cleanse - this is very popular and widely used. It's a series of meal replacement shakes - so you're not eating anything, but you're still drinking essential nutrients. I know several people who feel very ';cleansed'; and leaner after this treatment. Start small, maybe for just a week.

    Your body can actually live months without food. A cleanse is really great but a water cleanse can be too harsh, you should look into a juice fast or the master-cleanse, so when you are hungry you can sip on something tasty to sustain you.


    It's true though, if your body stops digesting so much food, then the energy you are using stops going to your digestive system and can be used elsewhere in the body. However, this takes more then 3 days to happen.


    Three days (72 hours) is exactly how long it takes for you body to break the physical addiction to food. After this period you stop feeling so hungry all the time, and it's alot easier to differentiate between mind hunger and body hunger. IE, if you are hungry, but you want chocolate instead of an apple? Why is that, what is more satisfying about chocolate instead of an apple if you are truly hungry?

Then your body will go into ketosis which is burning fat for fuel. This takes a while to happen though, like a week.


    Also, this will be useless if you maintain the same lifestyle that you previously lived (as far as food goes) before your cleanse. You will gain all the weight back unless you change your lifestyle, which is a lot easier after you know you have the will power to not eat for several days.


    Before I did my detox, I read alot about it and made sure it was safe. I even asked my doctor if it would be okay. I did it for ten days, and I can honestly tell you that although I felt I didn't lose much weight (fat weight, I lost a lot of water weight), my skin completely cleared and my stretch marks went away.


    Also, coming off of a fast requires alot, you have to slowly work your way back into food.

Actually, if you keep on doing this you will notice that you will hardly ever feel hypoglycemic anymore after skipping a meal (these mechanisms are ';trainable'; as everything else in our body)....

    Fasting doesn't work like that. One day won't do anything for you.





    When on a healthy diet (ie, eating correctly). it is great to have a cheat day. In the beginning, you eat more than normal and you eat EVERYTHING, but that won't last forever.

    yes, make sure you add bulk like psyllium and bentonite clay to it. It's much better to start off with raw fruits and vegetables while staying away from processed sugars and meat. Drinking plenty of water that way you will have energy, fiber and you will be cleansing your system. When you're to the point that your body has adjusted then do it with just the bulk fiber and psyllium and water.     You can, but flushing out everything from your system without replenishing it (with food) can cause some problems including lowered intestinal flora, too little energy (maybe passing out during the day), and you may be spending most of those 2-3 days in the bathroom if you don't have some roughage to slow down the loose stools that you will get from it.     Failure to do that may result in headaches as you have to get rid of the toxins which are rapidly builiding up.

I'm between 140-145 and have not been able to get under 140 for almost 2 years I believe. I started on Tuesday weighing 146.7 lbs. Today is now Friday and I weigh 136.7 lbs. I know a lot of it is water weight, but I do feel great and my clothes actually fit. It's definitely too soon to tell, but day 4 and I'm doing okay. I've been following the diet in the book pretty precise and it is A LOT easier today. My only complain is the nauseas feeling I get after taking the ISO BURN pills. You have to understand that they're packed with caffeine. It's similar to drinking a cup of coffee on an empty stomach, the acid doesn't react too well w/ it. It doesn't last too long though. I usually eat a little chicken or a few grapes and the feeling goes away within minutes.

    I just bought the Extreme Burn on Tuesday (the 15th) and I've already lost 6 pounds. I do watch what I eat and eat no later than 6:30 pm, and I work out for atleast an hour each day. I love it. It gives me so much energy and it doesn't make my heart race or feel all jittery. I normally take 2 capsules between breakfast and lunch, and then another 2 between lunch and dinner...when I do that, I don't over-eat like I used to and I have enough energy at night to have a pretty good workout at the gym.     Okay, I've done ';fasting'; before... 20 years ago... for 4 weeks and while I still think it's a great idea, I would not recommend you do that unsupervised and certainly not that long. I consumed zero food for 4 weeks, but 3 liters of water/tea/coffee and 3 vit pills a day, plus exercise. I had a medical check-up every day as well. Dropped 20 pounds in 4 weeks doing that and kept it off. In the process, you do clean out your system and it's surprising that the stool eventually begins to smell like a chemical plant. By the way, I was 20 pounds overweight when I did it.





    Today, I'd say a 2 day fast every now and then, to give the system a rest, is fine. One does feel more energized when one doesn't eat so much.

    you can marinate your meats in vinegar. it helps cleanse your body. you can also use it for cleaning.
    Look on the tea aisle at the store for a detox tea. It works great. I can't remember what brand I used but yea it was a tea.

    2) Exercise moderatly but for about an hour every other day. Spend half of that walking or running at a good enough pace for you to feel labored. The other half of the time use weights, or exercises such as push ups or situps to get a muscle ';burn';. A gym is also an option, but I don't know if you have the money for or want to spend the money on it.





    3) Sleep well. To bed earlier and up earlier. Exercise in the morning when you wake up, not in the evening before bed. 7 hours of GOOD sleep is a must.





    4) Occupy yourself with a hobby that keeps your attention for a long period of time. A hobby like this keeps your mind focused and gives less of a chance for snacking from boredom.





    That is a good place to start... if you see good results, keep it up and modify to fit you... if it does not, see a doctor AND a trainer





    Keep working out, drink water a lot, eat 5 to 6 meals a day but in small quantities, vegtables are important specially cucumber and lattice, fruits not be eaten after meals except by 2 to 3 hours, minimize the starch quantities in your meals lots of salad is important, your last meal must be before you sleep by 2 to 3 hours

    Don't do it. It'll wreck havoc on your digestive system and although you may loose the weight, it won't stay off. You're better off getting on a strict work out and diet plan. You'll notice a lose of weight within the first few weeks, but be prepared to plateau from time to time. Just keep at it.

    The first few times you fast, you will feel horrible.


    I almost collapsed and had to take a nap the first few times I fasted.





    The best way to start fasting one day a week is to start with fasting for an 18 hour fast instead of a 24 hour fast. This would involve only skipping breakfast. For a few weeks try this, then try doing it two consecutive days for a few weeks.





    After a few weeks-months of this, you could switch to the 24 hour fast(skipping breakfast and lunch) and it will not bother you as much.

    Hi, I started today with the master cleanse, I decided to do it due so much junk food I had been eating for months. I'm a little afraid though, the reason why is because I love to do exercises, one hour of cardio routine everyday. Why if I get dizzy or what if I faint !     I would go with your gut, if you are feeling sluggish or tired I would stay off the exercise machines. If you do decide to exercise and start to feel funny then stop.
    Why do you smoke and do cleanses? If you're smoking 1 cig every couple days, you don't really smoke. Why put those toxins in your system? If you are fainting, something more serious is going on. Please see your doctor.





    As far as a master cleanse, the only one I know of is eating apples for 4 days to totally cleanse the body.
    There is no evidence that it achieves anything other than weight loss.


    So I wouldn't even bother doing it. The body can eliminate or cleanse itself from toxins on its own.
